Hi Mike - I normally budget for around £20 per film for processing and initial med res scan although this lab http://www.digitalab.co.uk/process.html does it for around £12 and the results are very good - if I then send back for an individual frame scan its much more expensive

This one is also good - 24mb TIFF for under £20

http://www.peak-imaging.com/htmls/process_and_scan_to_cd.htm

Thanks for the compliment re Leica - great lenses - and they are there with the M9 but the Fuji X series (especially the X Pro 1) look very good

But why use a Velvia simulation with a portrait? I would prefer less contrast, more continuous tones and less background noise using standard (Provia) simulation. But even so I believe the comparison being like between a Golf and a top German Merc or Audi is quite interesting and the small X10 gives very good results.
